The Journal of Environmental and Tourism Education (JETE) is an interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to advancing knowledge, research, and practice at the intersection of environmental education, tourism education, sustainability, and related fields. The journal recognizes the important role of education in developing individuals and communities that are environmentally responsible, culturally sensitive, and capable of contributing meaningfully to sustainable tourism and environmental management.

Environmental challenges, rapid changes in tourism practices, climate change, biodiversity loss, resource depletion, and increasing pressure on natural and cultural heritage have created a growing need for innovative educational approaches. Education provides an essential platform for developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and competencies required to address these challenges. Similarly, tourism education plays a critical role in preparing learners, professionals, policymakers, and communities to promote responsible tourism practices and sustainable destination development.

JETE therefore provides a scholarly platform for researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to share empirical studies, theoretical perspectives, innovative teaching approaches, and evidence-based practices relating to environmental and tourism education. The journal encourages interdisciplinary and context-sensitive research that contributes to sustainable development and strengthens the relationship between education, environmental stewardship, tourism, and society.

Aim

The Journal of Environmental and Tourism Education aims to promote and disseminate high-quality scholarly research and innovative educational practices that advance understanding of environmental and tourism education and their contributions to sustainable development.

Specifically, the journal seeks to:

• promote research and scholarship in environmental, tourism, and sustainability education;
• provide a platform for innovative approaches to teaching and learning in environmental and tourism-related disciplines;
• advance knowledge of education for sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, and responsible resource use;
• encourage interdisciplinary research connecting education, tourism, environment, culture, society, and sustainable development;
• support the development of competencies, values, attitudes, and practices that promote environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism;
• facilitate the exchange of knowledge and good practices among researchers, educators, tourism professionals, policymakers, and communities; and
• contribute to evidence-based educational policies and practices that address contemporary environmental and tourism challenges.

The Journal of Environmental and Tourism Education welcomes original research articles, review papers, theoretical and conceptual papers, case studies, methodological contributions, and innovative educational practices covering a broad range of topics related to environmental and tourism education.
